Consortium Team Biographies

Andy Fusscas, CRE
GBFC Managing Director

Andrew Fusscas became the Managing Director of the Green Building Finance Consortium (GBFC) in 2006. As Managing Director of the GBFC, Mr. Fusscas brings approximately twenty years of real estate industry experience with substantial background in real estate finance, valuation, underwriting and due diligence.

For the past 13 years Mr. Fusscas has worked as a real estate consultant with many high profile clients on a wide variety of issues. Mr. Fusscas has consulted on real estate securitization and underwriting issues for the United Bank of Switzerland (UBS), Nomura Securities, and others. He has performed numerous due diligence analyses for clients that include RREEF Funds, ING Clarion Partners, Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. He has also worked for SsangYong Construction Company, Ltd. and Universal Creative on assignments involving complex valuation issues.

For the past five years, Mr. Fusscas has been a contributing author to RREEF’s Strategic Outlook, focusing on key investment trends in the real estate capital and property markets. Mr. Fusscas has also authored a number of articles on the real estate capital markets, as well as other real estate related topics.

Mr. Fusscas has also worked as an acquisitions analyst for Sierra Capital where he performed financial and market analysis on more than $1 billion of office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties. Mr. Fusscas later worked for a development company where he assisted in securing debt financing for several shopping centers. Mr. Fusscas also worked as an Asset Management specialist for the retailer, Mervyn’s, where he developed and helped implement policies and procedures to analyze and approve payment of common area expenses at approximately 250 shopping centers.

Mr. Fusscas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development form the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) and a licensed real estate broker in California.
