Jim Amorin is the current Vice President of the Appraisal Institute and will be president in 2009. He has been actively involved with the Appraisal Institute since 1993 serving in the areas of Admissions, Finance, Audit and Education. He has developed and taught seminars and courses for the Appraisal Institute for both classroom and online experiences. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Green Building Finance Consortium.
Jim is also a frequent public speaker with recent audiences ranging from the Appraisal Institute, the American Society of Appraisers, Valuation 2005, and the International Right of Way Association. He has also been published in the Valuation (formerly Valuation Insights and Perspectives) magazine of the Appraisal Institute.
Jim serves as Vice President of Atrium Real Estate Services in Austin, Texas specializing in real estate and appraisal consulting assignments throughout the state. There, his practice consists of significant right-of-way, eminent domain, and consulting assignments as well as complex commercial appraisals for lenders throughout the United States.
He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Land Development. He is currently certified in the state of Texas with numerous other state certifications held over the years.
