Founded in 1888, the Swinerton Family of Companies provides clients with an unmatched
breadth of experience that spans three centuries. The same spirit that rebuilt San
Francisco after the Great Earthquake of 1906 remains strong today, driven by the
fundamental principle of exceeding our clients’ expectations through innovative
construction and outstanding customer service.
Over the past century, expansion throughout the West has created a network of offices
- Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, Santa Clara, San Leandro,
Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, Santa Fe, San Antonio, Houston, Denver and Honolulu
- that provides a full range of construction services: Commercial Building, Management
& Consulting, Tenant Improvement, and Engineering Construction. The Swinerton Family
of Companies is 100% employee owned, bringing a higher level of service, dedication
and pride to each project.
Over the course of the Company’s 119-year history, Swinerton Builders has recognized
the importance and value of construction and design practices that conserve energy,
natural resources, reduce waste, and promote healthier and more productive built
environments.
We are active United States Green Building Council members and are working on numerous
LEED-registered projects throughout the Western United States. Swinerton’s Green
Team of more than 65 LEED Accredited Professionals and 200 Green-trained employees
work to provide practical, cost-effective Green solutions to Clients, along with
the Company’s design and engineering partners. The Swinerton Green Team is comprised
of a complete cross section of employees, ranging from Project Engineers to Swinerton’s
full-time Corporate Sustainability Manager Grant French, the Swinerton Green Board
of Directors, and all the way up to the Chairman & CEO.

We can all do much more in our business to protect this great planet. We should
push for sustainable design and LEED Certification. I encourage everyone to make
this a priority and part of our culture.>
