Research Library

The Research Library includes thousands of documents coded using GBFC’s unique index designed for the sustainable finance and investment industry. The structure of the index is consistent with the organization of the Consortium’s foundational book: “Value Beyond Cost Savings”. For example, performance information is coded utilizing the structure of GBFC’s Sustainable Property Performance Framework. Key risks identified in GBFC’s Sustainable Property Cost-Benefit Checklist are coded individually as “Special Underwriting Topics”. The over 40 different types of financial analysis alternatives are coded using the categorization scheme presented in Chapter V. The end result is more easily accessible information organized to ease financial analysis and valuation.

A particularly strong feature of the Index and Research Library is the ability to code a single document with multiple codes, enabling a researcher to locate the best sources of information on a topic, which is often buried within longer documents. Combined with property specific codes, this multiple coding capability enables more precise and comprehensive searching of titles.

To aid researchers in understanding the logic by which documents are coded, we have prepared a regular and an annotated copy of the Research Library index which can be downloaded below.

Download the GBFC’s Real Estate Library Index to obtain additional detail on the subjects covered under each of the broad category headings by clicking the link below.
